Western Athletics supports athletics in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, participating in competition with Athletics Victoria. Each membership year commences with the Cross Country and Road Racing Series (XCR) from May to mid September and then the Track & Field weekly Shield competition commencing early October and finishes with State Championships in March/April. We field teams in both seasons, generally teams consist of Open Age Women & Men and Underage Teams. Western Athletics provide highly rewarding competitive, participative & social opportunities to people of all ability levels and ages. Our training facilities are the Victoria University Sporting Complex on Hoppers Lane, Werribee and Parsons Reserve in Sunshine. For further details read About Us or for enquiries Contact Us.

The 2010/11 Membership Form has been sent via email and can also be found here. To train at the Victoria University & Wyndham Sporting Complex on ANY Tuesday or Thursday evening you MUST be registered within two weeks of commencing your training. The VU&WSC is booked out for only Western Aths members on those evenings between 5pm & 7.30pm and co-tennants on Mon & Wed and Sunday mornings. |

On the evening of Monday 31st May 2010, the Annual General Meeting was conducted and a new Committee were elected to lead Western Athletics for the upcoming 12 months. |

XCR'10 Rd 5 Coliban Ekiden race report |
|
The long road relay from Harcourt to Bendigo, through spectacular countryside. Legs vary from flat and short, to undulating and challenging. Teams of 6 contest the Men's Division 1 & 2 relays whilst teams of 5 contest all other divisions. Competitors wear the traditional Japanese Tasuki sash, which is passed from runner to runner as the relay progresses over the 32.9km & 42.9km course. |
